Mommy and Denali (No. 1)

by LeeAnne on July 11, 2015

Even though I’m still catching up on my Dear Denali letters (I’m going to slip them into the archives, so check back later if you want to read them), it’s time to move on to a new way to document this second year. I have loved seeing Elise Blaha Cripe’s “E&e” series, so I’m going to steal the idea. Thanks, Elisa! ;) Each month, I’ll post three photo pairs that show what Denali and her mommy are up to. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Mommy: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (and decluttering along the way) and the daily devotional Savor. Denali: Board books First 100 Words and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Right now, she’s all about bringing her books to me to read throughout the day. If I’m busy and say “Not right now,” she drops to the floor in tears. So we’ll be working on that…

Mommy: Pretzel Crisps in garlic parmesan or honey mustard and onion. Mmm. Denali: Gerber Graduates Puffs in banana or peach.

Mommy: The new post–The Civil Wars solo album from Joy Williams, Venus. It’s pretty great, with the occasional vibe of Kate Bush or Lamb. “Until the Levee” is my favorite track. Denali: Our current Music Together repertoire: Summer Songs 1. She loves these classes, and having the CD in my car is a game changer. I can press play to calm any fussiness. Or play at any time to enjoy her enthusiastic clapping, slapping her knees, and “singing” along. The girl has music in her bones.
